SIGMOBILE Distinguished Service Award

The ACM SIGMOBILE Distinguished Service Award honors individuals whose exceptional and sustained service has profoundly strengthened the ACM SIGMOBILE community. This award recognizes leadership, dedication, and behind-the-scenes efforts that enable our conferences, publications, initiatives, and community activities to thrive.

Our field advances not only through technical innovation, but also through the commitment of volunteers who build, nurture, and sustain our community. This award celebrates those individuals whose service has made a lasting and meaningful impact on ACM SIGMOBILE.

Nomination Process

Nominations for the 2026 ACM SIGMOBILE Distinguished Service Award should be submitted to to sigmobiledsa26.hotcrp.com.

All materials must be received by March 31, 2026, 11:59:59 PM AoE (UTC−12).

Nomination Package

Each nomination must include:

  • Nominator information: Name, affiliation, and email address of the nominator. The nominator must be a current ACM SIGMOBILE member.
  • Nominee information: Name, affiliation, and email address of the nominee. The nominee must be a current ACM SIGMOBILE member.
  • Nomination statement (200–500 words): A clear description of the nominee’s exceptional service contributions and their sustained impact on ACM SIGMOBILE and its community.
  • Supporting letters (3–5 letters, each ≤400 words): Letters from individuals or organizations endorsing the nomination. Each letter must include the name, affiliation, and contact information of the endorser.

Eligibility

Self-nominations are not accepted and previous recipients of the ACM SIGMOBILE Distinguished Service Award are not eligible.

Selection and Presentation

Nominations will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the ACM SIGMOBILE Chair (Mo Li (lim@ust.hk)). The award will be presented at an ACM SIGMOBILE-sponsored conference in the year following selection. We strongly encourage members of the community to nominate colleagues whose leadership, generosity, and sustained service have shaped and strengthened SIGMOBILE. Recognizing these contributions not only honors individual excellence, but also reinforces the collaborative spirit that defines our community.
